Amorphous SnO2 thin films fabricated at low temperatures below 200°C were found to exhibit high conductivity of over 1000 Scm−1 even at film thicknesses below 100 nm. When this thin film was applied to the window electrodes of SHJ solar cells, the conversion efficiency was comparable to that of solar cells incorporating ITO. This indicates that SnO2-based amorphous transparent conductive films are a cost-effective and sustainable alternative to conventional In2O3-based materials and have the potential to be applied in a wide range of forms, including flexible ones.
