Measurement of many samples or sequential measurement are often required in materials research and development. Sample preparation and exchange must be manually performed, which has become a bottleneck in improving the throughput.
In this study, we developed a robotic system that automates sample preparation and loading/unloading to/from the powder X-ray diffractometer using a robotic arm. By integrating this system with BBO-Rietveld, an automated method for Rietveld analysis, it is possible to perform everything from sample loading to analysis autonomously and continuously.
