In this talk, examples of research on ghost engineering, a technology that supports the user's desired state of mind by actively utilizing the effects of the use of avatars, which are bodies in virtual spaces such as the metaverse, on human self-perception and the human mind, will be introduced. Then, the changing nature of the self in the metaverse and the points to be considered for the social acceptance and establishment of this kind of technology will be discussed, including the perspectives of devices and interfaces.
