Recently, suspended particulate matter such as PM2.5 has become a problem, increasing the demand for visualization and monitoring of wind fields and dust movement near the ground surface. Spatiotemporal resolution of a few seconds or meters is required to follow the movement of the lower atmosphere. In this study, we are developing a low coherence Doppler lidar (LCDL) for high-speed measurement with a spatial resolution of 1 meter. In this report, we estimated the size distribution of sand dust. The results showed good agreement with the particle size distribution of sand dust confirmed by microscopy.
