In the field of heavy ion beam imaging using Secondary Electron Bremsstrahlung (SEB) measurements, reducing the components of secondary radiation other than SEB (BG) can enable more accurate estimation of the beam's arrival position. Therefore, this study conducted experiments aimed at reducing the BG components that occur during therapeutic beam irradiation. The results showed that by surrounding the Image Plate (IP) and pinhole collimator with lead blocks, it was possible to reduce the BG components more effectively than in previous studies, thereby obtaining beam images with fewer statistical errors.
