In a physical reservoir using electrochemical reactions at the ionic liquid/electrode interface, we observed that performing pretreatment under light illumination activates interfacial reactions and increases the current peak. It is considered that Cu2O and other compounds formed during the pretreatment promote redox reactions in response to light, thereby enhancing the dynamic response at the interface. Furthermore, differences in output characteristics were observed between samples pretreated with and without light, indicating that light-assisted pretreatment is an effective approach for reducing operating voltage and improving information processing performance.
