[10a-N303-2]ab initio Quasi-Particle calculations and Spin Other Orbital Coupling for Bi2Se3

Based on ab initio quasiparticle calculations of the prototypical topological insulator Bi2Se3, we investigate the two-particle spin–orbit interaction, namely, the Spin Other Orbital Coupling (SOOC). Conventional GW+SOC frameworks have been limited to perturbative eigenvalue corrections. However, the implementation of Spinor Full Relativistic GW, which uses spinor wavefunctions obtained from DFT in the GW approximation, now enables applications to topological insulators with strong spin–orbit coupling. In this talk, we will report on this quasiparticle computational framework and present a theoretical discussion on SOOC based on the results.
