A semi-shell structure consisting of dielectric nanomicrospheres covered with a metal shell has a strong scattering directivity in the lateral direction by utilizing the Transverse Kerker effect caused by the interference of dipoles and quadrupoles. The refractive index of the dielectric nanomicrospheres was found to contribute significantly to the scattering direction. The semi-shell structure was optimized for the solar window.
