For triboelectric generators, the power transmission process has been understood in terms of static mono-charges and electrode displacement. But this is not all for power transmission through friction. As known in liquid crystal technologies, mechanical rubbing forces molecular dipoles align in one direction. Focusing on the alignment of molecules by friction, we modeled the power transmission due to randomization of orientationally ordered molecular dipoles. Based on the power transmission model through orientational randomization, we discuss the difference between the power transmission and electrostatic discharging process.
