n-type organic semiconductor,single crystal transistor
To achieve high performance in n-type organic semiconductors, it is essential to advance molecular design through the control of molecular orbitals, intermolecular interactions, and aggregate structures. We have focused on nitrogen-doped perylene diimide (BQQDI) that we originally developed, and have found that the introduction of cyano groups at the bay positions improves solubility and lowers the molecular orbital energy levels. In this study, we designed and synthesized cyano-functionalized BQQDI introducted fluoroalkyl at the imide positions, and evaluated their crystal structures, thermal properties, solubility, and OFET characteristics.
