Photon upconversion (PUC) is a technology to convert low-energy (long wavelength) light into high-energy (short wavelength) light. Especially for biological applications, PUC from the Near-infrared (NIR) region to visible light must be realized in solid state, which is important for applications. In this study, to realize PUC from NIR to visible light, UC emission of 669 nm was realized in solids by using 2PhTES-ADT as the emitter and COi8DFIC as the sensitizer under NIR irradiation at 904 nm.
