In aqueous environments such as biological systems and rivers, the concentration of chemical substances is spatially non-uniform. However, conventional biosensors perform measurements at fixed locations, making it difficult to capture their spatial distribution over a wide area. To address this issue, we propose a spatially exploratory biosensor in which a miniature sensor autonomously moves through the solution while continuously detecting target substances. In this presentation, we analyze its vertical oscillatory behavior involving repeated ascent and descent, and discuss design guidelines for wide-area exploration in aqueous environments.
