Boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) is a new radiotherapy modality that can selectively kill cancer cells. To promote BNCT as a reliable cancer therapy technology, real-time visualization of the therapeutic dose is essential. To address this, we carried out the basic design of a Compton camera applicable to 478 keV prompt gamma ray imaging from boron neutron capture reactions.
