Extracellular vesicles (Ev) contain proteins derived from original cells and can predict future diseases. It has been difficult to observe single Evs using optical microscope due to their small size. In our laboratory, fluorescently labeled single Evs were detected with sandwich assay in a fluorescence image as bright spots, using a plasmonic chip with a silver-coated wavelength-sized periodic structure. In this study, we analyzed membrane proteins of Evs derived from normal cells and cultured breast cancer cells with two types of capture antibodies.
