In this presentation, we evaluated the dielectric constants of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) synthesized by microwave heating from a mixture of microwave-active catalysts and waste plastics. Using a low-cost vector network analyzer and a homemade cavity resonator, we clarified the effect of catalyst residues in the CNTs product. As the number of production cycles increased, the dielectric loss also increased, suggesting improved microwave absorption and non-uniform distribution. We will also report on the evaluation of the properties after purification by chemical treatment.
