We investigated a method for introducing exogenous substances into the cut surfaces of plant stems using atmospheric pressure plasma. The plasma treatment enabled the introduction of 10 kDa FITC-dextran, but not a 2 MDa version. Furthermore, no significant difference in adhesion strength after grafting was observed between treated and untreated samples. These results indicate that this technique can deliver substances to the cut surface without impairing graft adhesion, holding promise for applications such as the introduction of graft-promoting molecules.
