Electrical noise inherently carries information about the medium through which it passes, making it a potentially powerful tool for material characterization. However, when applying this method directly to molecular films, the resulting current is often extremely low—especially for non-conductive molecules—posing significant challenges for measurement. In this study, we employed gold nanogap electrodes along with a custom-built, high-resolution, and high-speed measurement system to analyze the electrical noise generated through organic molecular films. Our results suggest the potential for molecular identification and characterization based on the analysis of electrical noise.
