The displacement current measurement (DCM) enables the analysis of charge dynamics within optoelectronic devices. Our research group has previously suggested a method that combines DCM with photoluminescence (PL) intensity measurements—referred to as the DCM-PL method —and has demonstrated its utility in evaluating charge–exciton quenching (EPQ) characteristics in organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). In this study, we applied the DCM-PL method to organic thin-film solar cells with the aim of elucidating loss mechanisms such as charge accumulation and EPQ, which are considered critical factors limiting power conversion efficiency.
