Iron-based superconductor
LnFeAsO (Ln = Nd, Sm) exhibits the highest critical temperature (Tc = 56 K) among iron-based superconductors when the O sites are partially substituted with H or F. However, the high reactivity of the H/F precursor compounds facilitates the formation of impurities such as LnOF and FeAs. On the other hand, in the case of thin films, it is possible to obtain LnFeAs(O,H) thin films through a topotactic reaction by annealing a single-phase LnFeAsO thin film with CaH2. Therefore, we conducted experiments aiming to synthesize SmFeAs(O,H/F) bulk materials by applying this method to bulk samples.
