Laser light sources with a wavelength of 2 µm have been attracting attention for their eye-safety and precision processing applications, and high output and high efficiency are required. Tm:YAG ceramics are an excellent gain medium, and in this study, we fabricated clad-type waveguides in 3.0 at.% Tm-doped YAG ceramics by femtosecond laser direct writing and investigated their characteristics.
