By measuring the surface potential distributions of thermoelectric materials, we aim to elucidate the impact of nano-structures on thermoelectric properties and local temperature distributions. We have developed local potential measurement techniques in a vacuum using open-loop electric potential microscopy (OL-EPM), which enables the acquisition of potential distributions without the need for a DC bias. In this study, the measurement accuracy depended on the cantilever’s oscillation amplitude, with smaller amplitudes providing higher precision.
