Understanding the properties of antiferromagnetic materials, which are gaining attention as spintronic materials, relies on the visualization of antiferromagnetic domains. While advanced facilities such as synchrotron radiation or high-power pulsed lasers are usually necessary, certain antiferromagnetic materials allow domain imaging using inexpensive LED light by exploiting a unique optical phenomenon called the magnetoelectric optical effect. This talk will present a visualization technique for antiferromagnetic domains using visible and near-infrared light based on this effect.
