Bremsstrahlung from C-14 has high penetrating power and is considered effective for analyzing the dynamics of photosynthetic products in thick biological tissues. In this study, we measured the bremsstrahlung energy spectrum from a C-14 source using a germanium detector and evaluated the attenuation effects by inserting glass plates as absorbers. Based on the changes in spectral shape, we investigated the feasibility of an attenuation correction method for C-14 quantification.
