We are studying the nitrogen vacancy center (NV center) in diamond as a device to realize quantum repeater. In the photon emission and absorption type quantum repeater, the remote entanglement generation by a photon absorption occurs probabilistically. Here, we demonstrate that the probability of remote entanglement generation is improved by transferring photon information to the nitrogen spin quantum memory of the NV center and repeatedly emitting entangled photons while maintaining the quantum state, resulting in an improvement in the quantum repeater rate.
