When lead titanium zirconium oxide which has piezoelectric effect was repeatedly compressed with rubber on both its sides, the output electric charge was enhanced comparing to using rigid body such as metal to compress. The reason we predicted was that PZT deformed accompanying rubber deformation and PZT generated electric charge in the compressive direction by the deformation in the horizontal deformation, or it is 31 mode. Strain gauge was attached to the compressive surface of PZT and the strain in the horizontal direction of PZT was measured.
