In this study, a new approach was considered to create an artificial superlattice of alternating SnS and SnSe layers, aiming to increase film thickness while preserving the ferroelectric properties exhibited in ultrathin SnS. Thin films of [(SnS)n/(SnSe)n]m (n = 0.2, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5) were deposited on a SrF2(100) substrate. Large second harmonic intensities were obtained, revealing the possibility that these samples exhibit ferroelectricity.
