An optical-fiber-based neutron detector was developed by employing a Li-glass scintillator processed into a spherical shape, and its neutron response was evaluated. Additionally, the experimental setup was reproduced using PHITS (Particle and Heavy Ion Transport System), confirming that the simulated pulse height distribution closely matched the experimentally measured one. The self-shielding effect was assessed by comparing the neutron sensitivity predicted from the volume of the spherical Li-glass with the pulse height distribution obtained from the simulation.
