かいわれ大根の種子へ複数のガスによるプラズマを照射し、発芽や成長速度がどのように変化するのかを調べた。実験結果から、酸素ガスを用いたとき、最も成長速度が速くなった。これは、酸素プラズマ処理により種子の表面が平滑化し、親水化が進んだためだと考えられる．
