In organic photovoltaics, charge carriers are considered to be generated from a charge-transfer (CT) state formed at the heterojunction interface in the photoactive layer, which is generated from singlet excitons upon the photoexcitation. In this talk, I will share with you the charge generation dynamics of polymer solar cells based on various conjugated polymers with different crystallinities and a fullerene derivative studied by transient absorption spectroscopy.
