We investigated the electronic properties of hBN thin films with monoatomic vacancies using the density functional theory. Our calculations showed that total energy of hBN thin films with monoatomic vacancies are sensitive to relative position of defect in the thin films. Electronic structures of hBN thin films with monoatomic vacancies are sensitive to defect shape, size, and relative position in the thin films.
