In recent years, early detection of disaster signs and prevention of secondary disasters have been emphasized as countermeasures against Nankai Trough earthquakes and sudden earthquakes of magnitude 5 or greater. However, since communication networks may be down or power may be lost when disasters occur, sensors that do not depend on these factors are needed.
In this study, we aim to develop a light source-independent fiber optic sensor, fabricate a long-period fiber grating (LPFG) that operates in the visible light range, and evaluate its temperature dependence.
