Control of molecular orientation using an intense laser field is one of the most fundamental techniques for investigating stereodynamics in optical-molecular interactions. Recently, we have applied the plasma shutter technique developed for a two-color laser field to the all-optical molecular orientation technique and successfully demonstrated the control of molecular orientation in a completely field-free space. In the present study, by introducing a molecular ensemble in the rotational ground state, we succeeded in dramatically improving the degrees of molecular orientation in a field-free space.
