[14p-K504-9] Extension of Babinet’s relations to reflective metasurfaces and experimental demonstration

We propose a method to extend Babinet's relations utilized for the design of transmissive metasurfaces to the design of reflective metasurfaces. As one of the applications, we have experimentally demonstrated a function as a half-wave plate using a reflective metasurface embedding self-complementary structure in the terahertz band. Furthermore, we have also demonstrated simultaneous implementation of the half-wave plate function and anomalous reflection by introducing a phase gradient in the reflection phase.
