Next-generation Novel Integrated Circuits Centers (X-nics) Program (2022-31 MEXT) focuses on creating and establishing academic hubs for new concepts of semiconductor technologies. By 3 hubs formation at the University of Tokyo, Tohoku University, and the Science Institute of Tokyo, the X-nics program aims at the following items. 1) creation and demonstration of new semiconductor concept (i.e. Agile proto-typing, Spintronics integration, Green elements and integration etc.), 2) establishment of competitive academic hubs based on open collaborations both in research and education, and 3) Executions by a 10-year program. This talk will cover the overall program vision and target, current status and achievements, and on-going efforts for issues in the future scaling-up expansion into globalization.
