Keywords:
synchrotron Radiation, physics of thin films and thier surfaces
This symposium is organized by the Thin Film and Surface Physics Division. In Japan, the use of synchrotron radiation started after 1960, and in the 60 years since then it has made a significant contribution to basic and applied materials research and to the development of a various types of devices through the analysis of measurement data of the properties and characteristics of thin films, thin film surfaces, and and [thin film/substrate] interfaces obtained by using synchrotron radiation. To further contribute to and develop the above, we provide information on what synchrotron radiation is, and the characteristics and applications of each synchrotron radiation facility in Japan.
