To develop high-speed, highly sensitive, and uncooled photodetectors in the mid- to far-infrared region, we investigated the photocurrent characteristics of the Weyl semimetal TaIrTe4. We synthesized TaIrTe4, fabricated devices, and performed photocurrent mapping while varying the polarization angle, photon energy, and modulation frequency. Based on these results, we discuss the mechanism of infrared photocurrent generation.
