To evaluate human physical activity, the spectral intensity of the upper arm before and after exercise was measured using mid-infrared spectroscopy passive imaging. Furthermore, a genetic algorithm (GA) was used to extract features of the waveforms by solving the combination optimization problem based on the cross-correlation of two types of waveforms before and after exercise. As a result, two wavelengths were discovered that may enable a more sensitive evaluation of physical activity than the commonly used lactate.
