Realization of electrically switchable thermal control devices are expected to novel device design for thermal protection and efficient utilization of thermal energy. In this study, we investigated thermal flow characteristics of the devices using plastic fiber including nematic-phase liquid crystal for multipurpose application. As the results, we found that fluorinated liquid crystal molecules aligned along long axis of polytetrafluoroethylene fiber. We report on voltage-dependence of thermal flow via the sandwitched cell structure using their plastic fibers.
