DNA methylation detection technologies are expected to contribute to the early diagnosis of cancer, lifestyle-related diseases, and mental illnesses. In this study, using a photonic crystal biosensor with periodic nanostructures, DNA hybridization detection and subsequent DNA methylation detection via an anti-methylated DNA antibody reaction were achieved within a total of 2 hours, without the need for staining or bisulfite treatment.
