Solid-state nanopores are applied for detecting single molecules and viruses, but the high-speed movement of target molecules poses a challenge in terms of reducing the signal-to-noise ratio (S/N). In this study, we observed the dynamics of DNA near nanopores by adding polyethylene glycol (PEG) to slow down DNA movement. Using rectangular nanopores, we found that the addition of PEG reduced the entry speed of DNA, suppressed bending entry behavior, and increased the proportion of linear entry. The influence of PEG molecular weight on DNA behavior was analyzed, and the details are discussed.
