On the 5th day of incubation, cardiac muscle cells from chicken embryos were cultured linearly on PDMS substrates with different elastic moduli, and their beating responses were compared under mechanical stimulation. PDMS substrates with elastic moduli of 300 kPa and 80 kPa were used. The stimulation was carried out within a custom-made device equipped with a real-time feedback mechanism, allowing phase control of the stimulation timing based on the unique autonomous beating of cardiac muscle cells. The differences in the responses depending on the substrate were reported.
