In the construction of supramolecular materials, it is highly important to control the assembling structure at each hierarchical level from nano- to micrometer scale. In this presentation, the formation of micrometer-scale molecular assemblies with precisely controlled molecular arrangement will be presented. Especially, the formation of microspheres made of biopolymers and natural polymers, their optical resonator properties, and their use in biosensing and biological applications will be introduced.
