We show the fundamental use of boron vacancy defects in hexagonal boron nitride as quantum sensors and their spin properties. In particular, we will describe our efforts: nano-size sensor spot placement using helium ion microscopy, sensitivity enhancement using composite pulses and isotope enrichment, and the sensor modeling and its validation.
