In this study, n-type skutterudite Co0.9Pt0.1Sb3 nanoparticles prepared by planetary ball milling were hybridized with carbon nanotubes (CNTs) to improve the thermoelectric properties of n-type CNTs. The normally p-type CNTs were converted to n-type by high-temperature vacuum annealing, and the Seebeck coefficient of the n-type CNTs was about −17 µV/K. The Seebeck coefficient of Co0.9Pt0.1Sb3/CNT hybrid increased to about −80 µV/K (98.3 wt% concentration of Co0.9Pt0.1Sb3).
