With growing interest in millimeter-wave and terahertz frequencies for wireless communications, methods for generating these waves using microcombs, integrated optical frequency comb sources, are being actively explored. Frequency synchronization of microcombs via optical injection holds promise for simplified frequency transfer and synchronization applications. However, detailed investigations into the synchronization conditions remain limited. This study experimentally examines the injection locking conditions of a microcomb using an electro-optic frequency comb, aiming to elucidate its synchronization characteristics.
