Blue-emitting perovskite nanocrystals (PeNCs) face the critical challenge of low photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) due to defect formation. In this study, we successfully synthesized blue-emitting PeNCs by adding sodium borohydride (NaBH4) into the precursor solution. The addition of NaBH4 decomposed moisture in the solvent, thereby eliminating factors that promote defect formation. Furthermore, incorporating Na+, which has high lattice energy, effectively suppressed defect formation in the PeNCs. These combined strategies enabled the fabrication of blue-emitting PeNCs with significantly enhanced PLQY.
