Interstitial fluid (ISF) has been widely studied for its diagnostic potential, yet sensing ISF within living body remains a significant challenge. Microneedles have garnered attention as a minimally invasive technology capable of accessing biological tissues and hold promise as a tool for ISF sensing. In this study, we fabricated a high-aspect-ratio microneedle device embedded with functional fluorescent hydrogel at its tip and evaluated its fluorescence sensing capability for glucose solutions as a proof of concept for this technology.
