To control the characteristics of the PF-POF sensor, the reinforcement layer was removed by wet etching with chloroform and water. In the evaluation of temperature dependence of BGS and BFS of PF-POF with partially removed reinforcement layers, BGS was observed at room temperature. When the non-removed portion was cooled to 0°C, the BFS shifted to the high frequency side, and when the removed portion was cooled, there was no BFS shift and the overall BGS power decreased. These results suggest that PF-POF with the reinforcement layer removed may have a large optical propagation loss when in contact with liquid.
