In order to clarify the effect of interlayer exchange coupling (IEC) on the magnetization dynamics in a synthetic antiferromagnet (SAF), we have studied the in-phase [acoustic mode (AM)] ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) and out-of-phase [optical mode (OM)] FMR in Co/Ru/Co synthetic antiferromagnets. Our results show that the FMR linewidth broadening as a function of resonance frequency exhibits non-linear behavior only for OM-FMR and that this non-linearity strongly depends on the IEC strength between the two Co layers.
