Transverse thermoelectric (TTE) conversion, in which the thermoelectric force is induced perpendicular to the temperature gradient, has attracted attention as an effective and flexible energy conversion. Although many candidates for TTE material have previously been proposed, verification of the TTE conversion in them has not been performed. In this study, we directly measured the transverse thermopower in WSi2 single crystal. This exhibits the axis-dependent conduction polarity in thermopower. We applied a temperature gradient between two different crystallographic axes and simultaneously measured the transverse and longitudinal temperature differences and voltage drops using four thermocouples. The voltage drop along the transverse direction exhibits a large value and the obtained transverse thermopower is comparable to that of the ferromagnetic topological Heusler based on the anomalous Nernst effect.
